The Orange County Land Trust’s Adopt A Trail Program at Hamptonburgh Preserve
The Orange County Land Trust is partnering with Independent Living, Inc to create a Universal Access Natural History Interpretive Rail/Trail that is ½ mile in length and leads to a viewing platform along the Wallkill River. This trail is designed to bring a variety of woodland and wetland habitats accessible to people with disabilities with interpretive signage- translated into Braille- providing information on the plants, animals and natural history of our region. For this handicapped accessible trail, we have raised $13,000 in donations but we need your continued help! In addition to donations from our individual supporters, we are seeking grant funding from various government and private sources. Please consider making a gift to the Land Trust that will help make nature accessible to all.
