Before this historic landmark was sold to the Village of Monroe, the racetrack's owner asked us to protect it with a conservation easement, which would guarantee that the land would be held as open space forever. The Village of Monroe plans to use this land as a public park, providing space in the Village for public events such the Cheese Festival, as well as for walking, running, cross-country skiing, or otherwise enjoying the out-of-doors.
