Orange County Land Trust to Host Hike up Schunnemunk Mountain Middletown, NY — March 28, 2008 The Orange County Land Trust will lead a hike up Schunnemunk Mountain beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19. The Schunnemunk Mountain hike is an easy to moderate, family friendly hike on a Priority Preservation Area. It culminates in a breathtaking overlook of the Hudson River Valley. Meeting place is at the hikers parking area on Clove Road just south of Hil-Mar Lodge in Salisbury Mills. Hikers are encouraged to wear comfortable boots and to bring lunch and plenty of water. As always, all Land Trust field trips and hikes are free of charge and open to all. The Orange County Land Trust is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve the fields, forests, wetlands, ridgelines and river corridors in communities throughout the county.
