Middletown, NY (OCLT): The Orange County Land Trust will honor its 2010 Leaders in Land Preservation at this year’s Annual Benefit Reception and Silent Auction on Friday, June 4 beginning at 5:30 pm at Falkirk Estate and Country Club in Central Valley, formerly the Inn at Central Valley.
Each year, the Orange County Land Trust Board of Directors chooses to honor individuals or organizations that have displayed an unparalleled commitment to the preservation and conservation of land in Orange County. This year the Land Trust will honor six Family Foundations and Funds that have provided significant support to the Orange County Land Trust. Honored that evening for their commitment to the protection of the county’s natural areas, working farmland and water resources will be The Berman Field Foundation, The Richard and Rebecca Evans Foundation, The Greystone Foundation, and The Land Family Foundation. Honored also will be The Harold and Carol Levine Memorial Fund and the Jacques and Florence Levine Charitable Fund both held by the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan for the benefit of Orange County Land Trust.
The theme of this year’s Annual Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction is ”Giving Back….and Looking Forward- A Celebration of 18 years Protecting Orange County’s Rural and Agricultural Heritage”. This elegant evening affair will feature cocktail style dining and a seated dessert and awards ceremony. The reception is supported by the generous contributions of the 2010 Benefit Committee, headed by Benefit Chair and Land Champion James H. Ottaway, Jr.
