Middletown, NY (OCLT): On Saturday, October 10, the Orange County Land Trust will sponsor a guided hike at the Orange County Land Trust’s 255-acre Fuller Mountain Preserve off Bowen Road in the Town of Warwick, beginning at 10 am.
Come see the fall foliage at its peak at this beautiful and diverse public nature preserve owned and managed by the Land Trust. This moderate 3-hour hike rambles through a magnificent wooded ravine up to fantastic vistas overlooking the Warwick Valley. The preserve is home to several unusual plants, many species of mammals including black bear and the long tailed weasel, an abundance of bird life, and frogs, toads and salamanders who live in and around Fuller’s Brook. As there are areas of steep and rocky terrain, this hike is not intended for very young children.
Registration is not required for this free event. Donations are always appreciated, and all proceeds go towards the future stewardship of Fuller Mountain Preserve. Meeting time is 10 am at Shop Rite parking lot on Route 94 in Warwick. All participants should bring water and lunch.
