Orange County Land Trust to Host Hike on Fuller Mountain Preserve, Warwick
As part of the 9th Annual Hudson River Valley Ramble, the Orange County Land Trust will host a hike on Fuller Mountain Preserve in Warwick on Saturday, September 13 beginning at 10 am at the preserve entrance on Bowen Road.
Held weekends September 13 through September 28, the Hudson River Valley Ramble is a celebration of the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area, with over 200 events featuring outdoor adventures and explorations, heritage site tours and cultural events in regions within the Hudson River Valley from New York City to Albany. The Fuller Mountain hike is a three hour, 2 mile hike that rambles through a magnificent wooded ravine up to fantastic vistas of the Warwick Valley. The 255-acre preserve, which will remain pristine forever under Orange County Land Trust management, is home to a variety of wildlife. The wetlands are full of frogs, salamanders and toads and the woods are home to numerous species of mammals including the long-tailed weasel and the black bear. It is also home to an abundance of bird life.
