Orange County Department of Planning and Orange County Land Trust Sponsor Earth Day Seminar:
“Land Protection, Food Production and Buying Local”

Middletown, NY (OCLT)

The Orange County Department of Planning and the Orange County Land Trust will sponsor a special Earth Day seminar “Land Protection, Food Production and Buying Local” on Wednesday, April 22 beginning at 7 pm at Cheryl Rogowski’s Farm, 327 Glenwood Road in Pine Island.

Topics to be discussed include the different ways of protecting land such as through the placement of a conservation easement or creation of a nature preserve; the Hudson Valley Community Preservation Act and how it is implemented in the Town of Warwick; producing food on protected land; and the role consumers can play by buying food from local producers, as well as information on where and how to purchase locally produced foods.
